DEAR GUESTS!
WE EXTEND A VERY WARM WELCOME!
WE WANT YOU TO FULLY ENJOY YOUR STAY WITH US AND TO REMEMBER IT FOR THE MANY PLEASANT EXPERIENCES.
In 2021, HIŠA LINHART became a recipient of the
GREEN KEY sustainability label, which is the leading standard of excellence in the area of environmental responsibility and sustainable practice in the tourist industry. The label means the commitment of companies to respect the strict criteria set by the International Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).
By acquiring the label, Hiša Linhart has been recognised for its EXCELLENCE IN THE FIELD OF ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY AND SUSTAINABLE PRACTICE.
We declare that:
- we are environmentally friendly in all areas of our business,
- we make our visitors, guests, friends and relatives aware of the importance of a sustainable approach
- we are constantly looking for new solutions for the responsible handling of natural resources and the efficient use of electricity and thermal energy
Such behaviour is first and foremost beneficial for the natural environment. In most cases, this kind of care for the environment involves small measures that do not require a lot of effort or giving up comfort; rather it is simple and hardly noticeable actions that are required. By tackling them together, we can change the world for the better and leave it to our descendants the way we got it from our ancestors.
It is because of the above that employees with ‘environmental sparks’ commit to responsible behaviour towards the environment, and we also encourage our guests to do the same. An important condition for obtaining the Green Key label is awareness. We would be grateful if you follow the guidelines below, and, in doing so, join us in contributing to the preservation of the environment. We also welcome your comments and suggestions – we will take them into account as much as possible and/or send them to the addresses of the relevant bodies/institutions.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND OBLIGINGNESS!
OUR ENVIRONMENTAL ‘SPARKS’:
WE HAVE DRINKING WATER, BUT MUST BE ATTENTIVE TO ITS USE
TO MAINTAIN A SATISFACTORY QUALITY OF LIFE, AN AVERAGE PERSON CONSUMES 80 LITRES OF DRINKING WATER PER DAY. IN SLOVENIA, EACH MEMBER OF A HOUSEHOLD USES FROM 130 TO 200 LITRES OF DRINKING WATER PER DAY. JUST ONE FLUSH OF THE TOILET USES FROM 2 TO 8 LITRES OF PURE DRINKING WATER, AND FOR COOKING, THE AVERAGE SLOVENIAN HOUSEHOLD USES 6 LITRES OF DRINKING WATER PER DAY.
WE ARE PROUD TO HOST YOU IN AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE THE WATER IS DRINKABLE! IN SLOVENIA, WE DRINK EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN AND HIGH-QUALITY WATER! JUST POUR IT, AND CHEERS!
SEPARATE WASTE CAREFULLY
WE SEPARATE WASTE IN ACCORDANCE WITH INSTRUCTIONS. WASTE SHOULD ALWAYS BE PLACED IN THE APPROPRIATE CONTAINERS AND NEVER IN NATURE OR IN DRAINS. WASTE DISPOSED IN THIS WAY POLLUTES GROUNDWATER AND OTHER SOURCES OF DRINKING WATER.
ALWAYS STRIVE TO PUT WASTE IN THE APPROPRIATE CONTAINERS.
REDUCE THE USE OF PLASTIC
PLASTIC REPRESENTS A BIG THREAT – BOTH TO THE ENVIRONMENT AND TO HUMANKIND. IN SLOVENIA, 987,151 TONNESS OF MUNICIPAL WASTE WAS PRODUCED IN 2017, WHICH EQUATES TO 478 KG OF MUNICIPAL WASTE PER CAPITA. AN INDIVIDUAL IN SLOVENIA USES FROM 100 TO 300 PLASTIC BAGS A YEAR, BUT THEY ARE USED FOR ONLY A FEW MINUTES TO AN HOUR. BECAUSE THE AMOUNT OF PLASTIC BEING PRODUCED GLOBALLY IS EVER INCREASINGLY, 6.4 MILLION TONNES OF IT END UP IN THE ENVIRONMENT ANNUALLY. PLASTIC PARTICLES AND SUBSTANCES, WHICH ENTER OUR BODIES AND THOSE OF ANIMALS, HAVE A GREAT IMPACT ON THE QUALITY OF OUR HEALTH.
WE TRY TO AVOID THE USE OF SINGLE-USE PLASTIC PRODUCTS.
WE TURN OUT LIGHTS WHEN NOT IN USE
WE USE ENERGY-SAVING/LED BULBS. LIGHTS SHOULD BE TURNED OFF WHEN THEY AREN’T NEEDED, AS DOING SO CONTRIBUTES TO REDUCED CONSUMPTION OF ELECTRICITY AND TO PRESERVING THE ENVIRONMENT.
WE REDUCE CARBON FOOTPRINT
OUR BUILDING HAS QUALITY INSULATION AND ENERGY-SAVING WINDOWS. WE CLOSE DOORS AND WINDOWS IN SUMMER TO PREVENT ROOMS FROM BECOMING TOO HOT, MEANING ADDITIONAL COOLING IS NOT NECESSARY. THIS EFFECTIVELY REDUCES THE CARBON FOOTPRINT.
WE VENTILATE THE PREMISES FOR A SHORT TIME EVERY MORNING AND EVENING.
WE ENJOY THE WEALTH OF LOCAL NATURAL AND CULTURAL HERITAGE
THE NATURAL AND CULTURAL HERITAGE IN OUR ENVIRONMENT ARE OUTSTANDING. VISIT, EXPLORE, EXPERIENCE AND TASTE! INFORMATION ABOUT ATTRACTIONS, EXPERIENCES, GASTRONOMY AND CUSTOMS CAN BE OBTAINED AT OUR INFO POINT AT RECEPTION. ASK OUR FRIENDLY STAFF IF YOU NEED ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
WE EXPLORE THE SURROUNDINGS USING ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY TYPES OF MOBILITY
RADOVLJICA AND ITS SURROUNDINGS ARE IDEAL FOR CYCLING AND HIKING. EVERY OUTING YOU GO ON BY BIKE OR ON FOOT, INSTEAD OF BY CAR, IS AN ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY ACT. HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT ABOUT HOW DIFFERENT THE EXPERIENCE IS OF A PLACE WHEN WE VISIT IT ON FOOT OR BY BIKE? WE REALLY FEEL IT, SMELL IT, AND HEAR IT UP CLOSE. BEING OPEN TO LOCAL RESIDENTS ALLOWS US TO MORE EASILY COME INTO CONTACT WITH THEM. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY WE CAN REALLY UNDERSTAND THE PLACES AND PEOPLE WE VISIT.
ALL INFORMATION ABOUT BIKE HIRE OPTIONS AND CYCLING AND HIKING TRAILS CAN BE OBTAINED AT RECEPTION.
WE STRIVE FOR ECONOMICAL USE OF DETERGENTS AND WATER WHEN DOING LAUNDRY
HOTELS AROUND THE WORLD USE TONNES OF DETERGENTS AND MILLIONS OF LITRES OF WATER EVERY DAY TO WASH SINGLE-USE TOWELS AND BEDDING.
THEREFORE, BED LINEN AND TOWELS ARE ONLY CHANGED AFTER GUEST CHECK-OUT AND PRIOR TO ARRIVAL OF NEW GUESTS, OTHER THAN IF GUESTS SPECIFICALLY REQUEST THIS.
